STATEMENT
ENTERPRISE – the joint endeavour of Lark Ring (1993, Tiverton) and Taiga Nakazaki (1996, Tokyo) – operates between Zurich, Switzerland, and Tokyo, Japan.
As ENTERPRISE, Ring and Nakazaki create spaces that draw attention to the mechanisms of value production, labor, and the shifting role of art within capitalist frameworks. Aiming to critically examine the globalized intersections of commerce, industry, and cultural exchange, the name simultaneously pays tribute to and satirizes these systems.
In their installations, performances, and site-specific interventions, ENTERPRISE develops immersive environments that blend art and commerce, inviting audiences to reflect on the nuanced relationship between these fields. By repurposing everyday objects and the visual language associated with industry, they expose the tensions and overlaps between economic systems and personal experience. ENTERPRISE emphasizes the contrasting expectations and social codes that shape how art is encountered, traded, and understood.
Through exhibitions and interdisciplinary collaborations, ENTERPRISE extends the conversation on art's role in society, while questioning the implications of aesthetic choices and the power structures within which they operate.
